Claudia Stark has been capturing audiences for over 8 years with her socially swayed, thought provoking lyrics. Yearning melodies, paired with mindful metaphors bring issues to mind that cut to the heart of the jaded person within all of us.
Claudia has played over 300 live shows to date, including two solo headline launch shows at her hometown, The Boileroom, and many summer festivals including Wickham, Victorious, Carfest North and South, Trinity Folk Festival and The Big Feastival.
Claudia has been described as performing “with a ton of guts, passion, and at times brutal intensity” (The Musical Melting Pot) which is entirely in keeping with the fierce subjects of which she writes. She would sit well in a record collection containing the likes of Frank Turner, Suzanne Vega and Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly.
Claudia has release two EP’s to date. The first, an exploration of how her early politics-driven writing would sit with a full band. And the second, a collaborative acoustic EP with fellow singer-songwriter Zach Johnson which the pair recorded themselves in their homes. The EP was very well received by current fans and new audiences alike.
When hit with the stumbling block on the Coronavirus pandemic, which resulted in venues and studios closing, Claudia took the opportunity to grow her writing repertoire. She worked on several co-writing projects for labels in this time (both over zoom and in person where possible) as well as working towards new releases for her own catalogue.
2021 will see the first of Claudia Stark’s solo releases in over 3 years. It will be well worth the wait with an eclectic mix of traditional folk tracks, as well as never-before-heard songs with the potential to provoke painful and joyful memories alike… but most importantly, the potential to provide healing and emotional solidarity to listeners after an unprecedented few years.
