Over the last 8 months I have been volunteering at a new live music venue in Woking called The Fiery Bird. I have been playing live shows in their old premises’ for over 5 years and was asked by Elaine McGinty (CEO) to assist with the social media marketing and booking of acts for certain events when the new venue opened in May 2018. I was one of 50 young people to be awarded the Music Venues Trust administered Red Stripe Bursary for my live events and promotional work with the Fiery Bird.
The Instagram, Facebook and Twitter pages are largely run by the venue owners, but below are a few examples of the social media posts and promotional materials I have created in the short time that I have been working with the venue:
This is one of many recent posters I have designed for the Fiery Bird Acoustic Sessions. This event is a live music night I book, host and run once per month at the venue. I have put on 5 of these events so far:
I edited this photo together from each of the bands’ promotional photos to advertise our opening night on 25th May 2018:
Below are a couple of the posts I uploaded to Instagram from the night:
I also took a large set of photos on my DSLR to use on the Fiery Bird social media pages. Here are a couple of examples:
This is a poster I designed for the venue’s first open-day on 26th May. The CEO was very keen to have a big emphasis on the venue logo and colours for the open day promotion. I coordinated and booked all of the acts for this show:
